Argus Pheasant (Argusianus argus argus)

The Great Argus Pheasant is found in Malaya, Thailand, Sumatra and Borneo, and is always a great attraction to our visitors. Some of the feathers have to be seen to be believed. The secondary wing quills reach lengths in excess of 30 inches (75cms), with a 4 inch width of fibre for the largest of salmon irons. The most famous flies using Argus are Speckled Argus...Painted Argus...White Argus... Argus Dee... Black Canary... Bonfire... Pink Blossom Spey, and the Argus Fly itself.
